Robert Egnell - a lyric baritone with extensive choral and solo experience from Stockholm, Berlin and London.
Currently based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Robert has during the last years been a member of Gustaf Sjökvist's Chamber Choir in Stockholm, the Berlin Philharmonic Chorus, and the BBC Symphony Chorus in London. He has had the pleasure of performing all over Europe, in America, Asia and Africa, working with conductors like Prof. Gustaf Sjökvist, Prof. Uwe Gronostay, and performers like Barbara Hendricks, Angela Giorgiu and Kiri Te Kanawa. Robert has sung most of the classic choral repertoire and has extensive experience in contemporary music which has been a specialty of some of his choirs. As a solo performer Robert has lately performed as a soloist with the GC Chamber Orchestra, performed at the biannual Goodenough College Gala Concert, as well as at weddings and funerals. During the summer, Robert studied musical interpretation with the prominent Torsten Föllinger and currently conducts the Dar es Salaam Music Society Chorus. Robert is as familiar in the operatic repertoire as he is in the oratorio and lieder traditions. Recently Robert has also performed in the musical "Little Shop of Horrors" doing the character of Audrey II, the man eating plant from outer space.
